MONTREAL – Groupe V Média’s EVP and COO Luc Doyon will retire from the company this October.
Doyon (pictured) has over 30 years of experience in media. Before joining Groupe V Média, he was EVP and GM of MusiquePlus and MusiMax for six years, plus held a number of senior roles prior to that, including EVP production and multimedia creation at Groupe TVA and VP of programming, news and operations at TQS.
President and CEO Maxime Rémillard credited Doyon’s role in integrating MusiquePlus in to the company as well as for his contributions that resulted in “Groupe V Média’s positioning as the most important independent broadcaster in Canada”.
“Under his direction, MAX tripled its market shares while MusiquePlus almost doubled theirs; and V’s fall programming will be outstanding, notably due to the most important production in its history: Occupation Double Bali”, Rémillard said in a statement. “I had a tremendous pleasure collaborating with Luc and benefited from this Great Man of Quebec television’s relevant and considerable experience. I am extremely proud of the work we have done together and I wish him a well-deserved retirement.”
“It is with a feeling of accomplishment that I will be leaving my functions this fall”, added Doyon. “Integrating two specialized networks to a conventional, and developing new and different creative avenues to ensure the growth of Groupe V Média were significant challenges and a very rewarding way to end my career.”
Doyon is scheduled to leave on October 6, and a selection process for the newly created position of vice-president of content is currently underway.
