Verizon to trial 5G in 11 U.S. markets

NEW YORK – Verizon Communications will test 5G “pre-commercial services” to select customers in 11 markets in the first half of this year.The U.S. wireless giant said Wednesday that its newly built 5G network encompasses several hundred cell sites that cover several thousand customer locations, making it “the largest proving ground in the world”.Working with partners that include Ericsson and Samsung Electronics, Verizon said that it will offer 5G to pilot customers in Ann Arbor, Atlanta, Bernardsville (NJ), Brockton (MA), Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami, Sacramento, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
