TORONTO – Bell Media’s Harold Greenberg Fund will support 33 Canadian film projects through its Script Development Program.

The slate includes films in all stages of script development, from story optioning and first and second drafts, to final drafts, and polish and packaging.

Highlights include: Stockholm, the next feature film from Born to Be Blue director Robert Budreau; The Resource, from the writer/producer team behind Mean Dreams; sophomore features from Rhymes for Young Ghouls director Jeff Barnaby (Blood Quantum), and Bang Bang Baby director Jeffrey St Jules (Panther!); a dramatic feature version of The Skyjacker’s Tale, based on the Jamie Kastner-directed documentary, currently in theatrical release; and the next film from Canadian iconoclast Guy Maddin, Fur Country.

The English-language program of the Harold Greenberg Fund, with contributions from Bell Media and The Movie Network, provides reimbursable financial assistance for the development and production of feature films, as well as sponsoring industry workshops, training programs, festivals, special events, and awards.  Since its inception in 1986, the French and English programs of the Fund have supported nearly 4,500 projects and initiatives, for an investment of over $100 million to date in the Canadian film and television industry.
