YELLOWKNIFE – SSi Micro has chosen Richmond-based Star Solutions to supply its new 4G-LTE Data and GSM Voice network infrastructure in Northern Canada.
SSi delivers communications services across a satellite backbone, which it says provides a unique challenge for the real-time and large capacity applications required with mobile 4G broadband. Leveraging Star Solutions’ virtualized packet core in conjunction with its own software over a distributed network will allow the company to benefit from reduced operational costs, increased network performance and better network resiliency, reads the news release.
