TORONTO – CTV has ordered another round of summer hit series The Amazing Race Canada.
The broadcaster said Wednesday that casting for the series’ fifth season in 2017 is open now through December 1 at 11:59 PM ET. Casting details and updates for hopeful participants is available here.
CTV said that the show averaged 1.9 million viewers last season, with 2.1 million Canadians catching winners Steph Leclair and Kristen McKenzie's race to the mat to claim the title and grand prize in last month's season 4 finale.
"After a nail-biting fourth season, Canadian viewers made it clear they are invested in the unstoppable adventure that is The Amazing Race Canada," said Bell Media SVP CTV and specialty Mike Cosentino, in the news release. "The series' exhilarating challenges and unpredictability, combined with a distinct Canadian charm, continues to captivate viewers across the country. We're excited to bring a fifth season of the biggest race in the nation to Canadians in 2017."
