NO NEED TO FREAK out, but AMC is bringing its horror movie streaming service, Shudder, to Canada.

A spokesperson for AMC Networks confirmed to Cartt.ca on Tuesday that Shudder will launch in late October here, with a monthly subscription price of $4.99, or $49.99 a year, for Canadian horror fans.

Shudder launched its screams-on-demand service stateside in summer 2015, and AMC, following the lead of Netflix, is starting its international rollout initially through Canada.

The aim is to offer a horror- and thriller-focused streaming service that targets a niche genre film market that generalist SVODs like Netflix and Canadian rivals Shomi and CraveTV will not be fully serving.

The horror movie offerings from Shudder are curated by Colin Geddes, a former programmer for the Toronto International Film Festival’s Midnight Madness section, and Sam Zimmerman. Both Geddes and Zimmerman are touting the upcoming Canadian launch for Shudder at the Toronto festival this week.

The Canadian service is understood to launch with around 300 horror titles, billed as "all kill, no fill."
