TORONTO and HANOVER, MD – Toronto-area telecom Iristel Inc. and its sister company Ice Wireless are gearing up to deploy wireless across 14 communities in Northern Quebec.
The companies have tapped Tecore Networks for its HSPA/LTE Network-in-a-Box (NIB) product, based on its all-in-one capabilities comprised of reliability, capacity, and innovative voice and high speed data features. Tecore’s NIB includes a complete Core and Radio Access Network (RAN) supporting both HSPA and LTE voice and data services, plus may be deployed as either a standalone system or networked together to provide a larger communications network.
“Tecore’s experience in deploying HSPA/LTE networks in remote field conditions has been a critical component of our network build-out in Northern Quebec,” said Iristel and Ice Wireless president and CEO Samer Bishay, in the news release. “They were a natural partner for us.”
“This build-out in the Canadian Arctic is a prime example of Tecore’s focus to develop, deliver and deploy robust all-in-one integrated mobile network solutions to facilitate the needs of underserved areas”, added Tecore Networks founder and CEO Jay Salkini. “We are thrilled that our HSPA/LTE NIB product has been chosen by Iristel and Ice Wireless, and we are ready to begin this journey with our new partners and their dedicated team.”
