MONTREAL — Stingray Digital Group announced it’s expanding its management team with the appointment of Rick Bergan as the head of content distribution for the United States.

With more than 20 years of experience in the cable TV, digital media and music industries, Bergan was most recently executive vice-president of business development and sales for OneTwoSee, a Philadelphia-based sports-data tech startup acquired in March by Comcast. Previously, Bergan was senior vice-president of distribution at New York-based TV music distributor Music Choice.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rick as part of Stingray’s growing management team,” Eric Boyko, co-founder, president and CEO of Stingray, said in a news release to announce the appointment. “He is a team player with extensive expertise in music distribution, marketing and business development. His ability to constantly innovate, his energetic leadership style, and his faultless reputation are strong foundations on which we can continue to grow and build our business in the US market.”

Bergan will join Stingray on August 15 and will be based on the US East Coast. In his new role, Bergan will be responsible for sales development and will forge strategic relationships with sales agents and TV operators in the United States, the news release said. Bergan will work closely with Brian Decker, Stingray’s Los Angeles-based senior vice-president of US sales, the company said.

“I could not be happier to join Stingray in this newly created position,” Bergan said in the news release. “It is my hope that my years of experience and through the important relationships I have built over the years, I can significantly contribute to Stingray’s expansion and continued success with new and existing clients.”
