CALGARY – "Speed is up, cost is down," is the marketing behind Shaw Communications’ newly launched Internet service.
WideOpen Internet 150, available now in most major markets across Western Canada, offers up to 150 Mbps download speed, up to 15 Mbps upload speed, and 1 terabyte (TB) of data transfer per month, with no fees if customers exceed their monthly data allocation. It also includes an advanced WiFi modem and access to download speeds of up to 30 Mbps at over 80,000 Shaw Go WiFi hotspots.
The service is priced at $49.90 per month for the first 12 months on a two-year price-guaranteed value plan. The price increases to $79.90 per month in year two.
"Canadians want lower prices for Internet service, but until now they had to choose between price and speed. Shaw WideOpen Internet 150 doesn't force them to make that choice," said Shaw’s consumer president Chris Kucharski, in the news release. "Our customers expect to always be connected, and Shaw WideOpen Internet 150 makes top-tier speeds accessible, affordable and more broadly available than ever before."
