MONTREAL – Stingray Digital Group has opened a regional headquarters in Singapore as it continues to expand its activities in the Asia-Pacific market.

The company said Friday that the move follows its recent acquisitions of live music channel iConcerts and digital music services provider Digital Music Distribution PTY in Australia.

“I cannot overstate the importance of the Asia-Pacific region to our global development plan,” said Stingray president, co-founder and CEO Eric Boyko, in the news release.  “By 2020, Pay-TV subscriptions in the region will experience double-digit growth, making a permanent Stingray presence essential to propelling our current momentum.”

Stingray’s Singapore office will be headed by Mathieu Sibille who, in addition to his current position as CEO of iConcerts, will also act as managing director for Asia-Pacific.  He will spearhead local operations, develop the company’s growth through strategic partnerships, and liaise with music industry stakeholders from Tokyo to Sydney.

“We could not have selected a better location than Singapore, a hub of creativity and technology, to grow Stingray’s operations in the region,” added Sibille. “Singapore’s strategic location will allow us to respond in a flexible and reactive way to our current and future clients’ needs. The new Stingray office will serve as a major centre for our clients and will serve a key role in customer support, sales, and development.”
