TORONTO and BATON ROUGE, LA – Groupe Média TFO has signed its first international partnership agreement with Louisiana Public Broadcasting, a Corporation for Public Broadcasting (PBS) member station, to distribute its French-language children’s programming.

The distribution agreement began this week for 18 months and includes 14 hours of weekly content aimed at Francophones aged two to eight.  Content includes TFO’s in-house production Mini TFO, as well as Motel Monstre, Boum C’est Canon, Devine Qui Vient Jouer and Sam Chicotte.

"Louisiana Public Broadcasting will be offering the French-language educational content we produce in our Toronto studios, along with content created by our production partners," said Groupe Média TFO president and CEO Glenn O’Farrell, in Thursday’s news release.  "As a Canadian public media organization that makes educational content in a minority Francophone environment, we are honoured to see our content distributed in the United States.”

"We are pleased to offer French-language children's programming from Group Média TFO to complement our award-winning PBS Kids content on LPB2”, added Louisiana Public Broadcasting president and CEO Beth Courtney.  “This ground breaking initiative will provide pre-school and school-age children the opportunity to reinforce their French language skills and strengthens our common mission with CODOFIL (Council for the Development of French in Louisiana) ".
