
TORONTO – Bell Media will celebrate Canadian film, celebrating the third annual National Canadian Film Day with multi-platform airings of some of the country’s premium cinematic offerings on Wednesday, April 20.
From Space and The Movie Network to HBO Canada, Bell Media honours more than 30 Canadian feature films. All of the films airing on April 20 have been backed by Bell Media through various levels of support, including story optioning, script development, pre-licensing, equity investment, acquisition, exhibition, and/or promotion.
Bell Media’s National Canadian Film Day programming includes the 2014 film Mommy (3:20 p.m. ET on TMN 1), which took home the Prix du Jury prize at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, Deepa Mehta’s latest film, Beeba Boys (9 p.m. ET on TMN 1/1:35 a.m. ET on TMN2/12:25 p.m. ET on TMN3), the Kit Harington action film Pompeii (9 p.m. ET on Space), and Being Canadian (9:35 a.m. ET/6:35 p.m. ET on HBO Canada) the patriotic documentary which tries to answer the question of what it really means to be Canadian.

Presented by Reel Canada, National Canadian Film Day celebrates Canada’s big screen achievements while encouraging Canadians to stand together, from coast-to-coast-to-coast, and revel in some of the country’s best cinematic stories. Last year, National Canadian Film Day held more than 170 screenings across the country in every province and territory.
