REGINA – Saskatchewan non-profit co-operative Access Communications also launched its new basic TV package on Tuesday, called AccessMicro.

The package includes 26 channels, including 10 in HD, U.S. networks ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and PBS, Go Apps and a digital set top box for $9.95 per month with the subscription of any Access Internet package.  The standalone price for AccessMicro is $19.95 per month.

Customers may also add on any of the company’s 35 small theme packs, which are grouped by genres and range from $2.95 up to $17.95 per month for a sports package that includes TSN, Sportsnet and NFL Network.  Some 50 channels are available now on an a la carte basis for $2.95 each per month, with more coming soon.

“We won’t hold off until December to launch more pick and pay channels. In addition to the already 50+ we do offer, the goal is to make the new ones available to customers as network contracts are finalized”, said Access Communications marketing manager Tami Mitchell, in the news release.  “We support consumer choice.  Our customers deserve more flexibility at a reasonable cost, so it was an easy decision on our end to offer the best possible Skinny package.”

AccessMicro is available now in Regina, Emerald Park, White City, Balgonie, Coppersands, Pilot Butte, Bienfait, Midale, Milestone, Weyburn, Estevan, Yorkton, Melville and the Battlefords.  The company said that it is currently working on new skinny packaging options for the remainder of its digital TV communities.
