
WINNIPEG – Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) is readying an offbeat new Canadian sitcom based on the webseries Delmer & Marta.
Shot in Edmonton and throughout Alberta, Delmer & Marta is a workplace comedy led by Aboriginal actors and comedians Sheldon Elter and Howie Miller, as well as Kevin McDonald (The Kids in the Hall), Shaun Johnston (Heartland) and guest appearances by Kevin’s fellow Kids in the Hall alumni Dave Foley (Spun Out).
The 9-episode, 30-minute series premieres Wednesday, March 9 at 10:00 PM ET on APTN E and HD, 10:00 PM MT on APTN W, and 10:00 PM CT on APTN N. Click here for the series trailer.
The webseries Delmer & Marta launched online last November featuring the series’ first four episodes as an exclusive sneak peek on the Delmer & Marta YouTube channel. It has over 88,000 views and more than 350 subscribers to date.
The series also has an interactive web app, Delmer & Marta On Love and Money, launching February 14 in time for Valentine’s Day and a six episode digital companion series called Delmer & Marta Do The West! that will launch on the Delmer & Marta YouTube channel beginning Wednesday March 9, in conjunction with the broadcast premiere of Delmer & Marta on APTN.
