CAMROSE, AB – Eastlink has bought independent telco Lynx Network, formerly Cable TV of Camrose. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Lynx Net offers TV, high speed Internet and home phone service in central Alberta to customers in Camrose and Slave Lake.
Lynx Net owner Larry McLaren said that he chose to sell to Eastlink because "the company is run by good people who care.”
“This industry is undergoing a period of rapid change requiring significant amounts of capital investment to leverage growth opportunities”, McLaren said in the news release. “Given Eastlink’s proven track record in Alberta, its financial resources and its strong operational history, I am confident that they are the right people to drive the long-term success of our company.”
Eastlink has invested more than $165 million over the last 10 years to Alberta communities where it offers TV, telephone and Internet services, including Grande Prairie, Cold Lake, Fox Creek, Three Hills, Bonnyville, St. Paul, Wetaskiwin, Whitecourt and Mayerthorpe.
“Lynx Net has a long history of excellence; as a family run company, it has served its customers with a similar philosophy and approach as Eastlink,” added Eastlink CEO Lee Bragg. “Adding Lynx Net to the Eastlink family further strengthens our commitment to this region.
“We are really happy that Larry will be with us for a while to help with the transition both with employees and customers as we invest, grow and build upon the great products and services Lynx Net already offers.”
