TVO adds new BoD member

TORONTO – Business technology and academic leader Ginny Dybenko has been appointed to the board of directors at TVO for a three-year term.

An advocate for technology and passionate about education and mentorship, Dybenko (pictured) is the executive director at the University of Waterloo's Stratford campus focusing on innovation sparked by the interplay between digital media, international commerce, and human culture.  Prior, she held the position of Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University and was the founding president and CEO of Bell Advanced Communications.

She also currently sits on a number of boards including Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), Institute for Chartered Accountants (ICAO) and the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.

Pursuant of the Ontario Educational Communications Authority Act, the Ontario Government appointed Dybenko for a three-year term that runs from December 9, 2015 to December 8, 2018.

"Ms. Dybenko's expertise in digital media and how it enables our lives will be of great value to TVO as we grow our roles as Ontario's partner for digital learning inside and outside the classroom and as the digital public space for Ontario perspective current affairs," said TVO CEO Lisa de Wilde, in the news release.
