MONTREAL – Corus Media’s Historia is developing a new historic drama series based on the gentleman of hockey, Jean Béliveau.
Produced by Pixcom, the five episode sports drama will also be accompanied by a documentary that includes the pivotal moments in the career of "Le Gros Bill", including his debut in Québec City playing for the Citadelles and then the As, his eventful time as captain of the Montreal Canadiens, as well as his efforts to help form the NHL’s Player's Association.
The series will be filmed in Fall 2016 for broadcast in 2017. Distribution details will be announced within the next few months.

Its unifying subject will delight our subscribers and honour the memory of this national hero”, said Corus Média president Mario Cecchini, in the news release. “It is a unique, large-scale project that truly demonstrates our desire to invest in Quebec productions."
