MONTREAL – Openface Internet has bought outsourced infrastructure and hosting solutions company Zerofail, the companies announced Wednesday. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Openface said that the deal doubles its fiber optic network in Montreal, plus adds point-to-point wireless service to its business services, with some areas of the city capable of speeds up to 1 Gbps. Furthermore, the service is available in the Metro Toronto area, powered by the multiple data centers where the company is interconnected.
Zerofail's 20 employees will be integrated into Openface’s team over the next few months, continues the news release.
“Five years ago, we began building our own network whenever it was possible and now, with the acquisition of Zerofail, we're taking Openface's capacity and service offering to the next level", said Openface CEO Andrew Lassner, in the release. "We are practically doubling the company's resources, both from a technological and a human resources standpoint, which allows us to provide even more value for clients and for Montreal businesses that require superior connectivity, high-quality telecommunications services and private networks."
