TORONTO – Calling card service provider Reliance Global Call is offering Canadians 1.25¢ per minute international calling to India and 24 other destinations.
The company said Monday that its Value Pack offers users in Canada 600 minutes each month for $7.49 including taxes, and is available without a contract, hidden costs or deposits. Users receive access to a smartphone app called Reliance Express Dial which works like online calling apps, but does not require the Internet to function.
Reliance’s Ashutosh Nagre, Marketing – Global Business (Voice), said that the plan is ideal for infrequent international callers.
"These users either don't subscribe to calling plans, or end up feeling (justifiably) that their money is wasted. And nobody likes wasting money," said Nagre, in the news release. "They simply want a small pack with adequate minutes for brief conversations with family, friends, business associates or clients overseas."
Reliance says that it has over 2.5 million global subscribers.
