MONTREAL – Groupe V Média announced Monday that it has acquired the 25stanley web site, a popular French language hockey-focused sports-news blog
The site, says the company’s press release, generates over 32 million page views annually and will allow Groupe V Média to add to its mobile offerings. The broadcaster (which owns network V Télé as well as specialties MusiquePlus and MusiMax) can now provide advertisers with new creative and marketing avenues that make use of all its platforms.
“This acquisition is further proof of our desire to grow our digital presence and continue to provide our clients and our audience with entertaining and effective multiplatform content,” said Maxime Rémillard, president and CEO of Groupe V Média, in the release. “25Stanley represents an opportunity to offer sports content to millennials in the V style.
Jean Trudel, a.k.a. JT Utah, the founder of 25Stanley, will join the company with the acquisition.
“This environment will be conducive to developing content partnerships and opportunities for media creativity. This can only benefit our clients, who will now have access to a broader socio-demographic profile,” added Catherine Gougeon, director of digital sales and business development.
