PETERBOROUGH, ON – Capella Telecommunications has acquired Montreal-based telecommunications distributor and systems integrator Incospec Communications, the companies announced late Tuesday. Financial terms of the transaction were not released.
With more than 35 years of experience in the industry, Incospec has acquired expert knowledge in compressed digital video, IPTV, multimedia content processing and delivery, including signal monitoring and analysis. Capella said that the deal allows it to offer out-of-warranty repair services, Montreal warehousing, and enhanced engineering services.
“The acquisition furthers Capella’s commitment to the Canadian industry. It broadens our line of products but more importantly adds additional resources to address the rapidly evolving technology being deployed within our industry”, said Capella president Norm Slater, in the announcement. “Incospec’s presence in the Canadian broadcasting market with products such as GatesAir is a major contribution to Capella. The addition of products such as Verimatrix will expand our ability to service the growing IPTV and OTT markets.”
“The combined companies will have the necessary resources to take on the upcoming challenges in video/multimedia and data delivery”, added Incospec founder and president, Mario Sebastiani. “I am very confident that both long-standing and new clients will continue to appreciate the integrity and the commitment of the combined personnel as a result of this synergetic consolidation”.
A privately owned Canadian company established in 1993, Capella Telecommunications Inc. is recognized as one of the leading full service distributors and system integrators of video, voice and data products.
