MONTREAL — Bell Business Markets announced Friday it is expanding its data hosting facility in Montreal, which will soon be able to offer a total IT load capacity of 6.8 megawatts in a 60,000-square-foot data centre.

Already the largest data centre in Québec, according to Bell, the company’s Montreal facility will see 10,000 square feet and 1.2 megawatts of IT load capacity added as a result of the new expansion. Bell’s data centre offers secure and reliable data hosting solutions to a broad range of Québec business customers, Bell said in a press release.

“Bell’s Montreal data centre expansion reinforces our leadership in Canadian hosting, connectivity and cloud services, and it will play a significant role in supporting business technology growth in Québec,” Adel Bazerghi, senior vice-president of marketing for Bell Business Markets, said in the news release. “Strategically located across Canada, Bell’s data centre network offers business customers unparalleled capacity, scalability and reliability for the latest data hosting and cloud computing solutions.”

Together with partners Bell Aliant and Q9 Networks, Bell Business Markets is able to offer customers access to 27 data centres across Canada, including three in Québec, and now has the capacity to support more than 39 megawatts of critical IT load, the company said.
