SAN FRANCISCO – Digital music service Rdio has launched a new group of curated stations from some of the most iconic and prolific labels in Canada and across the globe.

Rdio’s team of music programmers collaborated directly with partners from Arts & Crafts, Dine Alone Records and Maple Music in Canada to create the curated stations. Other new and recent label stations available to Canadian users include stations from Barsuk Records, Burger Records, DFA Records, Glassnote Records and XL.

In addition to new label stations, Rdio also partnered with local and global influencers to curate stations. New Influencer Stations available in Canada include Exclaim!, Yelp Toronto, Consequence of Sound, Hype Machine, and Indie Music Filter.

The new stations are launching for the first time in Australia, Mexico, Brazil, India and Asia, as well as added to the current offering available in Canada, the U.S., and U.K.  The label and influencer stations, as well as Rdio’s stations based on genre, mood and activity, are accessible now in Rdio’s ‘Stations’ section within the main navigation.

“Rdio is committed to making music discovery fun, easy and personal,” said CEO Anthony Bay, in the news release.  “In keeping with our objective of providing the world’s best Internet radio experience, we are proud to partner with key influencers and the label community to program their own branded stations. These stations not only help extend each labels’ brand presence but they also let our listeners anywhere in the world discover music from credible brands that they trust and respect.”

Rdio offers a catalog of over 35 million songs in 85 countries worldwide.
