TORONTO – Hit fantasy series Game Of Thrones is getting the big screen treatment in Canada after HBO Canada announced plans to screen the Season 5 finale in 74 Cineplex theatres on Sunday, June 14
Free tickets are available on a first-come-first-serve basis here starting Wednesday for the select Cineplex locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. In addition to behind-the-scenes and extras, as well as the Season 5 finale, the screening event will also include previews of upcoming big-buzz HBO series, including the second season of True Detective, and new comedies Ballers and The Brink, set to premiere on June 21.
HBO Canada has also launched a contest for the chance to win the ultimate VIP screening package, which includes two tickets to the Season 5 finale screening event, reserved VIP theatre seating, a popcorn voucher, and limited edition Game Of Thrones merchandise.
In June 2014, Bell Media partnered with Cineplex to host the first-ever large scale theatrical screening of Game Of Thrones, with more than 11,000 dedicated fans packing 29 cinemas across Eastern Canada.
