Global News tweaks talent roster

TORONTO – Global News is changing the face of its newscasts, announcing a new anchor line-up that will begin appearing on Tuesday with The Morning Show and be phased in throughout the summer.

Joining Global News from CP24 is Farah Nasser (pictured), who will partner with Alan Carter, Global's long-time political reporter and host of its Focus Ontario, to lead Global News at 5:30 & 6.  The duo will be part of a new format of Global's newscasts that will include virtual sets and 3-D graphics, plus greater discussion and a deeper look at the day’s headlines.

The Morning Show’s Liza Fromer will be joined by the new voice of Jeff McArthur who in addition to anchoring The Morning Show, will continue to host his daily talk show on Toronto's Talk Radio AM640. Global veteran Carolyn MacKenzie will move to mornings as the local Toronto host of The Morning Show and Rosey Edeh will continue to anchor Global News at Noon plus will contribute to Global News at 5:30 & 6

Global News at 11 promised to “revitalize” its late night newscast with anchors Crystal Goomansingh and Antony Robart, and Kris Reyes was named as the new anchor of Global News at 6 & 11 on weekends plus a regular contributor to the weekday newscasts.
