NEW YORK and TORONTO – The Canadian Football League (CFL) has struck a content and sales partnership with U.S. sports entertainment company Whistle Sports Network in an effort to reach more fans across new platforms.
The strategic partnership will put CFL stars and social content in front of Whistle Sports' millions of subscribers on their various platforms including Youtube and Facebook, plus provide new multi-platform content integration opportunities for brands who want to engage with millennial audiences and the CFL brand. In addition, Whistle Sports and the CFL will work together to produce content in partnership with the Whistle talent roster, which includes YouTube stars such as Brodie Smith and Dude Perfect.
"This unique partnership will highlight our league's tremendous athletes, the passion of our fans and the excitement of our game in new ways," said CFL Commissioner Jeffrey Orridge, in the news release. "This is a bold and transformative move in our efforts to expand the reach of the CFL to new audiences across all major platforms."
“We're thrilled to welcome the CFL into our global community of fans, leagues, teams and creators," added Whistle Sports EVP Brian Selander. "Our millennial audience wants to connect with and share sports content that's engaging and inspiring. The CFL knows how to deliver on that promise and is excited to be involved."
