BAIE-COMEAU, MONT-JOLI and AMQUI, QC – Telus this week unveiled more details surrounding its planned investments in Quebec, which will include $5.4 million in Baie-Comeau, $2.3 million in Mont-Joli and $2.1 million in Amqui.

The funds will enable thousands of homes and businesses to connect directly to Telus’ fibre optic network while simultaneously enhancing wireless speeds, coverage and capacity, the company said.  The investments will also allow for faster Internet speeds, new TV content, packages and applications for its Optik TV service, connect business locations and industrial parks to the network helping to further stimulate economic growth, plus grow the role of Telus Health.

“This investment will enable homes, local businesses, schools and healthcare providers to access the power of the fastest technology in the world, thus transforming the way they work, access entertainment, and deliver essential services,” said Telus’ VP Consumer Market Clément Audet, in a news release.

Telus announced earlier this month that it will invest $1.6 billion in new infrastructure and facilities across Quebec through 2018.  By the end of 2018, Telus says that it will have invested $23 billion in the province since 2000.
