SMITHERS, BC – CityWest opened its newest storefront in downtown Smithers Tuesday, the third in the region after locations in Prince Rupert and Terrace.

At the grand opening, local residents were invited to trial some of the services that CityWest will soon be offering, including the super-fast Quantum Internet suite of products, a slick new TV product and phone services.  Business customers will be able to access CityWest’s suite of advanced communications products, which include dedicated symmetrical Internet, private line and hosted voice services.

“We needed to upgrade our network in Smithers, and we decided to do it with FTTH, which is the best technology available,” said CEO Don Holkestad, in the announcement.  “We’ll have our first installed customers within the next month, and we wanted to share our excitement with the community today.”

Founded in 1910, CityWest provides television, Internet, phone, hosted voice, IP, and data services to thousands of residents and businesses across Northwest B.C.
