TORONTO – After offering up a free two year Spotify Premium subscription last week, Fido threw its wireless customers another bone Tuesday with new plans that include exclusive content from Vice Canada.

The new plans, known as Fido Pulse, include a news and culture service called the Daily Vice available at 8:00 AM ET Monday-Friday in English and French.  Daily Vice will also dedicate an episode every Saturday to an in-depth interview with one of Canada’s top news or cultural figures.

The first episode of Daily Vice aired Tuesday and featured a sit-down interview between Vice founder Shane Smith and Liberal Party Leader Justin Trudeau about his party’s support for Canada’s anti-terrorism bill, as well as the topic of marijuana legalization.  Upcoming Daily Vice content will include chef Matty Matheson and host of Vice’s Keep it Canada showing viewers how to make the world's greatest lasagna, and correspondent Brigitte Noël's report from the heart of the Quebec’s anti-austerity movement showing how riot cops are silently protesting the austerity measures, while simultaneously policing the same protests with tear gas and batons.

Fido customers may visit FidoHub.ca and download the Android or iOS app for a free preview through October 15.   Daily Vice is now available to all Canadians for three weeks on a free preview through the Vice hub in English and French

“Ninety per cent of Canadians between 18-34 years-old are actively using social media and they're looking for great news and entertainment to text, post, tweet, and share with their friends.  So we've packaged together the best mobile music streaming and ground-breaking news service for our customers," said Fido’s “top dog” (and Rogers’ EVP) Raj Doshi, in the news release.
