TORONTO – Though Apple Watch doesn’t officially launch for another month, Tangerine said Friday that its mobile banking app will be one of the first apps available on the new device.

The Tangerine Mobile Banking Apple Watch app will provide users with quick and easy access to their personal banking information, including account balances, recent transactions and transaction details, all from their wrist.  Clients will also have the ability to set account (balance over/balance under) and transaction thresholds (transaction amount below/transaction amount above), and subsequently receive notifications which they can choose to dismiss or get more details related to the transaction.

The app for Apple Watch will be available from the Apple Watch App Store on April 24, though the Tangerine Mobile Banking app for iPhone is available for free download now from the App Store.

“We’re excited to be one of the first apps available on Apple Watch as we continue to deliver simple and innovative solutions that allow our clients to bank on their own terms,” said Tangerine president and CEO Peter Aceto, in the news release. “This continuous innovation is what reinforces Tangerine’s position as a forward thinking bank and sets us apart when it comes delivering the future of banking to Canadians.”
