MONTREAL – Just in time for the start of the NHL playoffs, TVA Group has announced plans to launch new sports service TVA Sports 3.
The French-language channel will air approximately 90 NHL games, including all Montreal Canadiens matchups, reads Thursday’s announcement. TVA Sports, TVA Sports 2 and TVA Sports 3 will air every NHL game, every night as 16 teams battle for the Stanley Cup.
Videotron, Rogers, Bell Fibe TV / Bell Satellite TV and Telus Optik TV have already confirmed the distribution of the new channel, which will be available in April and May to all subscribers of TVA and TVA Sports 2 for free. TVA Sports and TVA Sports 2 will also be unscrambled for those TV distributors’ viewers from April 2 to 14.
"The addition of TVA Sports 3 is our way to offer all viewers who choose TVA Sports and TVA Sports 2 one more channel for free so they never miss out on any of the excitement during the elimination rounds”, said TVA Sports VP Serge Fortin, in the news release. “We are committed to our fans and on becoming the #1 hockey destination in Quebec, and with this announcement are taking another step towards becoming the destination for the Stanley Cup playoffs!"
