TORONTO — French-language educational media company Groupe Média TFO's bilingual Les Tablettistes conference will take place next week on Wednesday, February 18 at York University’s Glendon College.
In its second year, the Les Tablettistes conference will explore some of the controversies facing the modern classroom, such as the commercialization of e-learning and a recent TFO survey of educators that revealed 34% see a need for a national body to validate digital classroom content.
“Sixty-seven percent of educators and parents consider e-learning an important or very important part of modern education. The growing importance of technology in the classroom has benefits and poses implications that both parents and teachers must consider,” Glenn O’Farrell, Groupe Média TFO president and CEO, said in a news release. “We are proud to host discussions by world-class speakers and encourage innovation, awareness and critical thinking among educators and digital activists.”
Groupe Média TFO said its conference aims to inspire educators and content producers to examine current classroom norms and to equip technologists and educators with a lens to critically evaluate emerging learning technologies.
