TORONTO – Globalive’s Yak Communications has unveiled a new call quality solution that uses enhanced noise reduction technologies to offer users crystal clear voice calls that it says rival those made via traditional landlines.

Globalive CEO Anthony Lacavera said that he believes that the technology has the potential to “turn the home phone industry on its head”.

"Having a digital home phone or VoIP product in Canada, which has always beaten traditional home phone on price, and is now competing at the highest level with regard to voice quality, is sure to be a game-changer”, he said in Wednesday's news release.  “In the coming months, this technology will also be integrated with Yak's Mobile Calling App. I'm extremely proud of the progress we've made."

Founded in 1991 and acquired by Globalive Communications in 2006, Yak offers Canadians Internet, home phone, mobile and landline long distance services that it claims undercuts its telecom competitors by margins of up to 80%.
