TORONTO – Corus Entertainment’s CMT is hoping that viewers will get caught up in a full season of Tornado Hunters and its thrilling storm chasing footage.
The show was greenlit for 10 new episodes Wednesday, following the success of the web series and broadcast pilot debut on October 26, 2014. Production is set to start in March for the 10 x 30-minute reality series.
Already recognized as real-time weather experts within the news media, the Tornado Hunters – Greg Johnson, Chris Chittick and Ricky Forbes (pictured), have acquired a sizeable fan base for their stunning footage of the world’s most severe storms.
“Tornado Hunters was a huge hit on digital and with their specials on CMT this year,” said John MacDonald, VP of Television, Head of Corus Women and Family, in the news release. “We are excited to bring a full season of these Canadian storm chasers to our CMT audience who can’t get enough of the adrenaline and craziness they bring each week as they put their lives at risk.”
Developed with the participation of the Bell Fund, the Tornado Hunters web series was produced by Saloon Media in association with CMT.
