TORONTO – Corus Entertainment has named Lars Wunsche as general sales manager, national sales for Corus Radio, effective immediately.
Wunsche, pictured, brings 15 years of radio station management, sales and business development to the role. Most recently, he served as general sales manager for Corus Radio Toronto where he successfully led the growth of local direct business. Prior to that, he was general manager, Corus Radio Kitchener and was responsible for the day-to-day operations of 91.5 The Beat and 107.5 DAVE FM.
In this newly-created role, Wunsche will assume overall responsibility of the company’s sales relationship with Canadian Broadcast Sales (CBS) to ensure a unified and national sales approach across Corus’ radio markets. The consolidation of Corus Radio’s national transactional business with CBS under Wunsche will also create a consistent strategy for all sales activities and provide clients with a single point of contact, reads the announcement.
“Lars will be instrumental in managing Corus Radio’s revenue strategies in tandem with CBS,” said Mario Cecchini, president, Corus Média and president, Radio, Eastern Ontario, in the announcement. “In this role, Lars will also oversee strategic revenue-generating initiatives to provide additional value to our advertisers.”
Wunsche will report to Cecchini and Corus Radio president Chris Pandoff.
