CMPA inks new agreement with Rio de Janeiro’s SICAV

LOS ANGELES – The Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Interstate Association of Audiovisual Industry (SICAV) to expand opportunities for co-production between producers of audiovisual content including ​​film, television and digital media production.

The SICAV represents the interests of the Rio de Janeiro audiovisual sector at the federal, state and municipal levels.  This marks the third agreement established between Brazil and Canada this year.

The new cooperation agreement confirms the CMPA’s and the SICAV’s commitment to conducting discussions to promote:

– Mutual cooperation: facilitate cooperation and exchange of information between members of both organizations and between organs of government;

– Institutional access: making information available to members to allow their direct contact while protecting their privacy rights; 

– Delegation visitors: providing the means for official delegations from each organization to visit each other for meetings, seminars, project pitching, etc;

– Support for visiting members:  providing a temporary workspace during visits; and

– Mentoring: providing mentoring opportunities to enable members to exchange information and best practices.

As Canada's national trade association for independent producers, the CMPA represents over 300 Canadian film, television and digital media production companies producing content in all genres and on multiple platforms.
