TORONTO – Television Bureau of Canada (TVB) president and CEO Theresa Treutler is leaving the industry association after seven years.

No replacement for Treutler is being named at this time, and she has agreed to stay on until December 31st to ensure a smooth transition, reads Tuesday’s announcement.  She will explore new opportunities in the new year.

Treutler, pictured, joined TVB in 2007 after 25 years of broad-based advertising agency experience in both strategic planning and executional disciplines.  In her role as president of TVB Canada, Treutler worked with a highly involved board of directors, five committees and a team of research, marketing and telecaster analysts.

“It has been an honour and a privilege to lead the Television Bureau of Canada for the past seven years,” said Treutler, in the announcement.  “Deciding to leave to leave was not easy, especially when you love what you do. But it is right for me personally. Our members and employees are the finest, most dedicated people I know. I’ve enjoyed working with such motivated and talented individuals.”

The Television Bureau of Canada is an industry association for commercial television broadcasters in Canada.  In addition to acting as spokesperson for its members on television and advertising issues affecting the broad membership, TVB provides leading edge research and information about television advertising.
