MONROE, LA – U.S. telecommunications company CenturyLink opened its new data center in Markham, just north of Toronto, this week.
Designed to serve growing demand for access to secure colocation, managed hosting and cloud services, the data center is CenturyLink's second in the Toronto region and fourth in Canada. The new data centre, known as TR3, is built to support up to 5 megawatts of IT load and 100,000 square feet of raised floor space. The facility has received Uptime Institute's Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility and Tier III Certification of Design Documents.
"Today's dynamic business environments require businesses to partner with an agile data center provider that offers reliable, secure IT services and outstanding support," said Ash Mathur, regional vice president and country manager for CenturyLink Technology Solutions' Canadian operations, in the announcement. "Businesses that operate in Canada partner with CenturyLink because we help them succeed by understanding and addressing their specific technology needs, as well as ensuring the continuity of mission-critical business applications."
CenturyLink operates 57 data centers worldwide, including Canadian facilities in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Click here for more on the new Toronto data centre.
