SWIFT CURRENT – SaskTel and Innovation Credit Union announced a partnership formalized in a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance their joint efforts to promote one another’s strategic values and provide their customers with the best possible range of service options.
The MOU speaks of strengthening SaskTel and Innovation’s long-standing relationship in part by developing a framework for present and future contracts, points toward the possibility of joint business opportunities, and hints at collaboration in areas such as training and joint marketing opportunities. In a joint news release, the two organizations said that they share the same customers and a social commitment to give back to the communities of Saskatchewan.
“We are an Information and Communications Technology company and we are hoping to be able to use that expertise and our resources to help Innovation Credit Union meet its goals”, said SaskTel president and CEO Ron Styles, in the release. “They want to gain some efficiencies in maintaining their IT systems while ensuring their customers can access secure transactions over a rapidly changing array of service alternatives. This MOU is an important step toward making that happen.”
“This is much more than ‘we use SaskTel products’”, added Innovation Credit Union CEO Daniel Johnson. “I see this is a natural alliance because we are finding ways to build on one another’s strengths and access one another’s talents. With the advances in communication technologies in recent years, today more than 80% of our customer touch points are electronic – and whether it’s a smartphone or the internet, it’s happening over the SaskTel Network.”
