TORONTO – Producer and distributor Tricon Films & Television will work with Toronto-based technology company Stage TEN to create the first digital media channel on its new live interactive platform using its new virtual TV studio web app.
The innovative app allows live switching and mixing of video streams. Using any camera connected to the Internet, Stage TEN is able to pull performers into live-streaming shows, and allows the at-home audience to engage in programming in entirely new ways such as voting for performances in real time.
Tricon said Tuesday that it plans to create original interactive content that will enable both talent and viewers to participate in dynamic, professionally produced live content on their Smart TVs, PCs and mobile devices. The channel is expected to launch early next year.
“Tricon is looking forward to working with Stage TEN and its proprietary platform to develop new interactive content that gives audiences an engaging live experience they can fully partake in and affect in real time,” said president Andrea Gorfolova, in the news release.
“We are thrilled that such savvy film and TV players as Tricon are excited by our technology and taking the first step to open a channel and develop new styles and formats of content for our platform,” added Dave Lazar, Stage TEN co-founder and CEO.
