TORONTO – In a rather interesting coincidence Friday, Shaw Media announced that its TV Everywhere product Global Go is now available to Bell Fibe TV and Bell TV satellite customers, while CTV announced that its CTV Go is now available to Shaw Cable and Shaw Direct subscribers.
Global Go, (pictured), is available to 94% of the Anglophone market in Canada, and allows users to log in with their service provider subscription credentials, and live stream their local Global station on the app or catch up on missed episodes of their favourite Global shows.
Shaw customers can now watch live CTV and CTV Two programming – as well as full-length on demand coverage (more than 4,000 hours during the year) – whenever and wherever they are, at no additional charge by logging in and authenticating with their user credentials.
"Global Go provides accessibility and flexibility for our viewers and we are thrilled that Bell TV customers can now experience the full capabilities of the app and the enhanced offering it brings to their existing television experience," said Paul Robertson, EVP Shaw Communications and president of Shaw Media, in the news release. "We are proud of the platform's easy-to-use interface and high-quality video player, bringing viewers anytime, anywhere access and ensuring they don't miss a thing."
“We are pleased to extend the reach of CTV Go and offer Shaw and Shaw Direct subscribers more ways than ever to engage with their favourite shows,” said Domenic Vivolo, EVP content sales and distribution marketing, Bell Media, in that company’s news release. “This marks just one of many new partnerships to come for Bell Media’s TV Everywhere products, as we continue to extend the freedom of CTV Go brand to viewers across the country.”
