TORONTO – While the entirety of Rogers Communications will find out about the company’s new structure later today, Communications division president Rob Bruce will not be a part of it, the company has announced.
In a memo to staff this morning, CEO Guy Laurence said the company’s new alignment “will show we have unpacked a number of portfolios,” however, “Rob Bruce, President of Communications, has decided to leave Rogers to seek his next leadership role,” it reads.
“To ensure the transition is seamless, I’ve asked Rob to stay until the end of the year to manage the Consumer Business Unit and help with the overall integration effort,” Laurence added.
Bruce has been with Rogers for 14 years, and had been president and CMO of Wireless before taking on the cable and wireless portfolio together, six years ago. “He has made many significant contributions to the company,” said Laurence. However, the company's cable and wireless division results have languished in recent quarters, as reported.
“On a personal note, I’ve really enjoyed working with Rob over the last five months and know he will continue to be very successful in his career after Rogers. I’d like to thank Rob for his leadership during this transition period and I will provide you with more details this afternoon.”
There will be more to come on this, of course.. Cartt.ca will be at RCI headquarters this afternoon to learn more about the company re-org and will file reports later today.
