VANCOUVER – From restaurants and coffee shops to dry cleaners and yoga studios, Canadians can now earn points and redeem offers at local small businesses in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary thanks to the launch of Vicinity.

Vicinity, a Rogers Communications company, gives customers access to a single loyalty card that can be used to redeem offers and collect rewards across a network of participating small business locations.  Customers may register for a Vicinity rewards loyalty card at any participating local business or online, and track their points through their online rewards profile or on the Vicinity mobile app available on Android and iPhone smartphones.

Small businesses can benefit from a proven, easy-to-use, customizable program to help reach more customers and build loyalty.  Businesses using Vicinity can offer a variety of rewards to customers, including points to be redeemed for discounts, service and merchandise.

“Canadians are devoted customers and they love getting rewards at their favourite, local small businesses. The average Canadian belongs to seven different loyalty rewards programs and shops to accumulate points," said Vicinity GM Fiona Lake Waslander, in the news release.  "Our Western expansion allows us to bring more value and savings to shoppers while offering an easy to implement, customizable loyalty program in over 75 cities across Canada including Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Ottawa."
