Launches this week:

Sasktel launches infiNET in Prince Albert

REGINA – The first residential customers in Prince Albert can now sign up for infiNET, SaskTel’s new fibre optic network.

It is anticipated that all existing SaskTel high speed Internet and maxTV customers in Prince Albert will be connected by 2015, and others will also have the opportunity to sign-up for infiNET once their residential neighbourhood is converted to fibre.

infiNET is being deployed through SaskTel’s fibre to the premises (FTTP) program, a ten-year $670 million dollar initiative that will upgrade the broadband network and deploy fibre directly to homes in the nine largest urban centers in the province: Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw, Weyburn, Estevan, Swift Current, Yorkton, North Battleford and Prince Albert.

MTS expands fibre net to Niverville

NIVERVILLE, MB – MTS will be expanding its fibre-to-the-home network, the MTS FiON Network, to Niverville, Manitoba later this year.

This fibre-optic technology provides customers with the most advanced services MTS currently offers, including MTS Ultimate TV and ultra-fast high-speed Internet.

This expansion to Niverville is part of a multi-year program to deploy the MTS FiON Network to more communities in Manitoba.  Since 2010, MTS has launched the network in Selkirk, Steinbach, Dauphin, Thompson, The Pas, Neepawa, Carberry, Minnedosa, Killarney, Beausejour, Lorette, Stonewall and select areas of Winnipeg and Brandon.
