VICTORIA – Shaw Communications has teamed up with Victoria Highlanders FC to give its home stadium, Royal Athletic Park, a technological upgrade in time for the upcoming 2014 Premier Development League season.
Shaw will provide Internet services to the press box and ticket box offices, as well as in-stadium WiFi services to fans through access to the Shaw Go WiFi network. A complementary service available to all Shaw Internet customers, Shaw Go WiFi will provide visitors to the stadium with instant Internet access by entering their credentials. Once logged in, Shaw customers will remain continuously connected to Shaw Go WiFi while within range of the network. Visitors who are not Shaw Internet customers also have access to the network at Royal Athletic Park by logging in at each use.
"This partnership with the Victoria Highlanders soccer team exemplifies Shaw's continuing goal of keeping customers and communities as connected as possible," said Shaw’s VP of Operations, Ron McKenzie, in the news release. "We look forward to providing spectators at Royal Athletic Park with access to an exceptional WiFi experience as they cheer on the Highlanders this season."
Victoria Highlanders FC played their inaugural season in the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League in 2009, and in 2013, won the Pacific Northwest Division and Western Conference Championship.
