OAKBANK, MB – MTS will be expanding its fibre-to-the-home network, the MTS FiON Network, to Oakbank, Manitoba later this year, the company said Thursday.

This fibre-optic technology provides customers with the most advanced services MTS currently offers, including MTS Ultimate TV and ultra-fast high-speed Internet.

"We are excited to bring the MTS FiON Network to Oakbank," said MTS president Kelvin Shepherd, in the news release.  "With this advanced fibre-optic technology, customers in Oakbank will gain access to premium MTS services including MTS Ultimate TV and incredibly fast Internet plans."

This expansion to Oakbank is part of a multi-year program to deploy MTS's fibre-to-the-home network to more communities in Manitoba.  Since 2010, MTS has launched the MTS FiON Network in Selkirk, Steinbach, Dauphin, Thompson, The Pas, Neepawa, Carberry, Minnedosa, Killarney, Beausejour, Lorette, Stonewall and select areas of Winnipeg and Brandon.
