TORONTO – The Weather Network has unveiled a newly redesigned and enhanced version of its popular weather application for iPad, designed specifically for iOS 7, which also includes traffic reports.
Consistently ranked as one of the top free weather apps in Canada, the app now offers a simple layout with a clean look. Users will be greeted by a dynamic dashboard that allows them to select and save up to 20 favourite locations or enable the ‘Follow Me’ function to have local conditions and forecasts at their fingertips no matter where they travel.
They may also quickly scan current and forecasted weather conditions from the home screen, as well as access additional details with one simple touch. Other key features include an ‘Alerts Button’, a new ‘Add Location’ map, an ‘Active Weather’ link and new map layers for Canadian, U.S. and UK locations that include traffic flow (provided by Beat the Traffic) and lightning reports.
“With over five million iOS app users to date, The Weather Network is focused on delivering detailed weather information to our consumers in real time,” said Gita Ashar, The Weather Network’s director of mobile applications and emerging technologies, in the news release. “In redesigning our iPad app for iOS 7, we’ve added valuable new tools and features including map support offering traffic and lightning detection.”
The app is available free from the App Store.
