QUEBEC CITY – Telus said Monday that it is buying security IT firm Groupe Enode Inc. and will fold the Quebec City-based company into its Telus Security Solutions division next month. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Telus, which has been expanding its Internet data security operations after opening data centres in Quebec and British Columbia in 2012, said the acquisition will enhance its end-to-end provision of IT security for businesses in Quebec and across Canada while also protecting its customers' digital data from security threats.
"The number of organizations victimized by security breaches continues to rise every year”, said Yogen Appalraju, vice-president of Telus Security Solutions, in the announcement. “By expanding our capacity with the acquisition of Enode, we are strengthening our ability to protect our customers against web-based threats for many years to come."
"Telus has been a major partner of Enode for many years, collaborating in the success of several major projects in Quebec”, added Enode CEO Martin Berthiaume. “We are delighted to take our long-standing partnership a step further and join this well-regarded national team, which shares our passion for innovation as well as our commitment to excellence, our customer-focused approach, and the creation of real value for the businesses we serve.
Enode’s employees and technology will be integrated into Telus Security Solutions activities beginning April 1, 2014.
