MONTREAL – Starting Tuesday, Bell customers travelling to Cuba will be able to call their loved ones back home for less, as the telco announced decreases in its mobile roaming prices.
Bell customers travelling to Cuba will be able to buy mobile data usage for $0.60 per MB, voice calling for $0.50 a minute, and texts for $0.15 each. A 60-minute voice and text-messaging bundle, including unlimited incoming and 200 sent texts, will be available for $45. Bell’s pay-per-use wireless roaming in Cuba will now be billed at $2 a minute for voice and $8 per MB of data, which the telco says represents a reduction of up to 50%.
The popular sun destination joins growing a list of countries where Bell has reduced roaming costs as a result of ongoing negotiations with international telecom suppliers, the company said. The Cuba rate reductions follow similar price decreases for the United States, Europe, Mexico, China, Australia and New Zealand, and Bermuda and most Caribbean islands since September 2013.
Bell also introduced convenient Travel Data Passes that offer usage monitoring and alerts, and can be purchased before or during travel using the Bell Mobility self-serve app.
