WATERLOO, ON – Sandvine said Wednesday that it has received follow-on orders for approximately $10 million from an unnamed Tier 1 operator in North America. The orders were received in its first quarter of 2014.

To support an expanded set of policy use cases to be deployed in the network, the operator has ordered additional software from Sandvine's service creation portfolio, the service delivery engine, and its policy traffic switch platform. Sandvine said that its service creation portfolio helps operators increase revenue and customer satisfaction by offering subscribers innovative new service tiers.

"Sandvine's solutions support a wide variety of innovative service plans worldwide. The accuracy of our traffic identification capabilities allows operators to establish application-based plans, like gaming or social networking, and monitor usage against them precisely, in real-time. Subscribers get the best possible service for their favorite applications, without bill shock, and operators attract new subscribers and avoid revenue leakage," said Tom Donnelly, COO of sales and global services, in the news release.
